The soaring sculptural tower by designed by internationally renowned architecture firm OMA features inspired interiors by Hall of Fame designer Clodagh, 30,000 square feet of amenities and panoramic views of the bay and city. The luxury residential building includes a penthouse designed by Jay Jeffers, art by Gallery Wendi Norris and a stylist in residence.

Related California, the West Coast affiliate of the nation’s largest privately-owned real estate firm, Related Companies, today announces the opening of its highly anticipated residential high-rise, The Avery. Located in the heart of San Francisco’s Transbay District, The Avery’s impressive architecture is designed by Pritzker Prize-winner Rem Koolhaas’ Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) while acclaimed New York firm Clodagh Design brings nature-inspired design to the interiors and 30,000 square feet of amenities. Together, the team created a remarkable 56-story sculpted glass tower offering 118 luxurious condominium residences starting on the 33rd floor, premium luxury apartment rentals on floors 2-32 at Avery 450 and unprecedented amenities and services.

In conjunction with the opening of The Avery, Related is also unveiling a spectacular 4,312-square foot penthouse designed by renowned interior designer Jay Jeffers. Priced at $15,950,000, the penthouse reflects an elegant modern design that takes full advantage of its breathtaking views and allows residents a remarkable space to entertain.

“Today marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the opening of The Avery and the debut of our Jay Jeffers-designed penthouse,” said Gino Canori, executive vice president and chief development officer at Related California. “With its world-class architecture, meticulously designed residences, unparalleled amenities and Related’s signature service, The Avery embodies the City’s next influential chapter—bringing together its residents and community and establishing a new standard for luxury living in San Francisco.”

Architecture by OMA
The Avery reflects the visionary work of OMA, representing the firm’s first-ever high-rise in San Francisco and first ground-up development in the Bay Area. At the ground level, the tower introduces The Shops at Avery Lane, a thoughtfully curated collection of premium dining and retail partners, set to generate activity throughout the neighborhood. The Avery’s world-class architecture creates an impressive addition to the City skyline—its striking glass façade creates a distinct exterior and provides residences with prominent views of the San Francisco Bay, Bay Bridge, the iconic City skyline and beyond.

“The Transbay District is changing into a place where San Francisco’s future is developing," said Jason Long, partner at OMA. "Our building is centrally located, so we wanted the site to be both a connector and a destination.”

“We are thrilled to be completing our first tower on the West Coast," continued Shohei Shigematsu, partner at OMA. "The Avery is shaped to weave together multiple scales and optimize views out to the City and Bay."

Inspired Interiors by Clodagh Design
Inspired by the Bay Area’s connection to nature and wellness, The Avery’s residential interiors by Clodagh Design boast refined details including hand-selected Italian Michelangelo marble kitchen counters with full-height backsplashes, Miele appliances with integrated paneling and spa-inspired baths with custom dual vanities with Cristallo Pearl marble counters, frameless glass showers and Kaldewei soaking tubs. Residences also feature glowing oak flooring that is illuminated by expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows in every room, Dornbracht fixtures and a meticulous design influenced by Clodagh’s consistent work in the wellness field. Internationally renowned Feng Shui expert Alberto Amura guided the project since the groundbreaking, creating balance and vibrant energy throughout the property.

“The Avery design experience has been both a deep joy and an honor for me and for the entire team at Clodagh Design, from start to finish,” said Irish-born, New York City-based Clodagh. "Related Companies understands and encourages Clodagh Design’s wellness tenets of biophilia, Feng Shui, biogeometry and chakra healing that create total harmony and wellbeing for all of The Avery’s residents and the staff alike.

"We wanted to capture that magical feeling of San Francisco for residents at The Avery, with our choices of mixed woods and marbles, for which we were inspired by San Francisco’s redwoods and the ocean, as well as all of the Bay Area’s natural attractions, and massive paintings that evoke luxury, comfort and an interior connection to nature. We took care to select vendors that align themselves with sustainable and eco-friendly practices. The attention to detail with available health and wellness programs, such as the deep aqua pool with its shimmering ceiling that captures the changing lights of the Bay, is extraordinary. And an infra-red sauna, ancient stone, flickering fire and water features all address the Feng Shui ethos.”

A Contemporary Art Collection by Gallery Wendi Norris
Gallery Wendi Norris curated an impressive contemporary art collection for The Avery, featuring local, national and international artists working in a variety of mediums from painting to video installation. The collection is anchored by a polished, sculptural piece by Alijca Kwade, representing her first installation on the West Coast, which resides at The Shops at Avery Lane for residents and the public to enjoy. The collection also includes work by Sara Vanderbeek, Chris Ofili, Mikka Tajima and a new commission from Eamon Ore-Giron that welcomes Avery 450 residents. The Avery’s striking collection is a testament to its world-class design, outstanding services and amenities and extraordinary lifestyle it provides to residents.

Wendi Norris notes, “The Avery collection utilizes imagery rooted in universal languages to speak to greater human connectivity. Often grounded in themes of environmental preservation, cosmological curiosities and cultural symbologies, the works are immediately and strikingly beautiful, over time revealing their multifarious layers.”

A Penthouse by Jay Jeffers
Designed by renowned interior designer and author Jay Jeffers, the recently completed 4,312-square-foot penthouse at The Avery reflects an elegant modern aesthetic and is ideal for a savvy buyer excited about entertaining and enjoying the best of San Francisco. Custom contemporary and vintage pieces converge to bring dynamism and soul, along with a touch of glam. In the great room, thoughtfully designed vignettes allow residents and guests the opportunity to conversate while sweeping views of the water, Bay Bridge and San Francisco take center stage.

“The design of the penthouse for The Avery takes into consideration the building’s striking architecture and unrivaled services and amenities, knowing the buyer of this residence would appreciate something that’s equal parts sophisticated and sexy," said Jay Jeffers, who is headquartered in San Francisco. "The Avery exudes style and the penthouse is designed to be its pinnacle, refined yet statement-making."
