Cultural creatives flock to downtown L.A. and The Emerson, the area's premier luxury rental residences

DTLA's cultural core attracts food and art lovers looking for endless inspiration.

The opening of The Broad, the contemporary art museum located in the heart of Los Angeles' cultural epicenter, marks the latest milestone in the transformation of Bunker Hill. Vespaio, which opened in June, further enhanced the culinary offerings of the vibrant neighborhood. Solidifying what L.A.'s premier cultural creatives have already discovered, downtown Los Angeles has become a haven for food and art lovers and an extremely desirable residential neighborhood.

The pace of leasing at The Emerson, the neighborhood's premier residential building located just steps from The Broad, underscores the allure of the lively neighborhood for culture cravers and foodies alike. Evolving beyond the artist loft concept, many from the creative community are drawn to The Emerson's stunning luxury apartments by premier real estate developer Related California and its unprecedented array of amenities, level of service and proximity to L.A.'s best cultural attractions. Just steps from The Broad, MOCA and Disney Concert Hall, The Emerson is situated in the center of downtown L.A.'s booming cultural core.

Nestled on the ground level of The Emerson, the newly opened and highly acclaimed restaurant Vespaio, from chef Agostino Sciandri, offers an unparalleled dining experience. Vespaio serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to both residents and downtowners alike. Residents can enjoy exclusive food services including special discounts on seasonal offerings, access to in-room dining and catering for on-site events in the property's extraordinary amenity spaces, including the penthouse lounge and terrace. Otium, chef Timothy Hollingsworth's highly anticipated dining destination, will also be opening directly adjacent to The Emerson, giving residents access to two of the hottest restaurants in L.A. Located in the residential epicenter of the neighborhood, The Emerson is the ideal place for residents seeking cultural inspiration. The property is a model location for residents looking to spend their mornings in an art gallery and their evenings at a play.

"The Emerson takes great pride in the people who reside here and make up the cultural fabric of downtown Los Angeles," said Gino Canori, executive vice president of development for Related California Residential. "Related continues to succeed in creating an environment that draws a rich tapestry of residents to live at our premier downtown residences."

A glimpse at the diverse and dynamic group can be found below:

The Sommelier:
Otium sommelier Elizabeth Huettinger recently moved into The Emerson after seeing how the building provides everything she looks for in a home. When she's not at work, Elizabeth can be found hosting wine tasting night in her home or at The Emerson's stunning rooftop penthouse, with expansive views of downtown L.A. and the Hollywood sign. From the property's pool where she spends her Sunday afternoons to the respite from downtown that her building provides, Elizabeth believes in the importance of having a home you feel good about.

The Nightclub Owner:
Resident Olivier Bader manages the historic Globe Theatre, only a few streets away from The Emerson. After renovating the theatre for the last two years, the team's vision was to bring a bit of the legendary European nightlife to Los Angeles with Ibiza DJs, Cirque du Soleil performers and more. Having debuted as a cultural destination and thriving nightclub, the theater hearkens back to its illustrious past with live nightly performances, designed to transport and dazzle the crowds. Living at The Emerson provides Olivier the opportunity to ride his bike to work, never needing his car to get to his "office." As the theater's manager, Olivier surrounds himself with interesting people residing in DTLA, providing him inspiration for future performances to host.

The Parisian Art Collectors & Gallerinas:
Parisian art collectors Nicolas Libert and Emmanuel Renoird also call The Emerson their home, filled with pieces from their part-gallery, part-boutique Please Do Not Enter. The art curators have carefully collected contemporary pieces that attract the diverse crowd of DTLA. When the two moved to the Los Angeles, they immediately knew the up-and-coming neighborhood was about to take off. Their apartment overlooks the Disney Hall and the new Broad Museum, offering inspiration from the bustling city.
