Completed in 2004, Pueblo del Sol is a mixed-use, mixed-income community of 377 affordable apartments and 93 for sale single-family homes located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of East Los Angeles. A public-private partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, McCormack Baron Salazar, Sun America Affordable Housing Partners and the Los Angeles Unified School District, this 35-acre distressed public housing site, formerly known as Aliso Village, was the largest public housing revitalization in California. Today, Pueblo del Sol is an affordable, sustainable living environment with an elementary school, high school, community center with exercise rooms, swimming pool, a 1.5 acre park, several large tot lot/play areas, and an on-site social services center providing job training, after school programs and computer classes.
