​Located in the Outer Mission neighborhood of San Francisco on a .71 acre parcel that was formerly a city-owned lot adjacent to the Balboa Park Area Rapid Transit Station (BART), Kapuso at the Upper Yard is an affordable, mixed-use, transit-oriented development with 131 apartments for low- and very low-income families. The 9-story building is complete with approximately 10,000 square feet of retail space along Geneva and San Jose Avenues, consisting of five commercial spaces that include a childcare facility, family wellness community resource center and bicycle repair and youth bicycle education facility operation by local non-profit PODER.

Kapuso at the Upper Yard is a public-private partnership with the City of San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) and Mission Housing Development Corporation (MHDC), which provides intensive social services including mental health services, crisis prevention, employment support and training and more.
