Alveare will be a 100% affordable, mixed-use, multigenerational residential community with 303 units of affordable, service-enriched family, senior and permanent supportive housing in downtown Los Angeles.  The site is state-owned property located between 14th & 15th Streets and Broadway and Hill in the South Park neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles.

The first phase of the entire 303-unit development will be 105 units for low and extremely low-income families. (Average income of less than 40% AMI.) The second phase will be 100 units of affordable apartments for seniors, and the third phase will be 98 units of permanent supportive housing for individuals exiting homelessness. Each of the three phases will be a standalone building and independent, so the buildings can be constructed in any order depending on funding.

Alveare is the first of the excess sites projects to break ground in the City of Los Angeles. When complete, Alveare will be the largest affordable housing community in DTLA.

Related California and the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles were selected via a competitive RFP from the State of California to develop affordable housing on state-owned land.
