Via 425 is the first phase of a 105-unit affordable apartment development located on approximately 1.075 acres on the north side of East Carson, formerly an underutilized vacant lot owned by the City of Carson within the Carson Street Corridor, and part of the city's adopted Carson Street Master Plan. Related was selected through a competitive RFQ and RFP process to develop the site under a Disposition and Development Agreement with the City of Carson's former redevelopment agency. On-site amenities include a children's play area, barbecue area, central courtyard, a 3,000-square-foot community center that hosts social services such as after school programs and adult educational classes, computer room, fitness area, kitchen and lounge, media room and laundry facilities.
