As Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for Related California, Mr. Witte leads the sourcing of new investment and development opportunities throughout California. His responsibilities include the acquisition, planning, design and entitlements of mixed-income, mixed-use, market rate and commercial developments. He currently leads the development of 1500 Mission Street, a 1.2 million square foot, $850 million mixed-use development with a 550-unit, mixed-income (80/20) apartment building and a 462,000 square foot office building in San Francisco.
Prior to joining Related in 1986, Mr. Witte was a Founding Partner of Griffin/Related Properties, the predecessor to Related California, where he led the development of The Paramount, a 486-unit, mixed-income apartment tower in San Francisco. Mr. Witte was also a Partner at Bay West Development and began his career as Development Manager for Grosvenor International, the overseas investment arm of the Grosvenor Estate of London, where he developed the 610,000 square foot Ridgeview Court in Cupertino and the 250-acre Solano Business Park in Fairfield.
Mr. Witte was a Founding Partner of Marwit Investment Management, LLC, a Private Equity Fund Manager, that has invested in 35 companies over the past two decades. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IndX Software (sold to Siemens), Chairman of Paciolan (sold to Ticketmaster), Chairman of Solis Health (sold to Audax) and Director of STEC (Nasdaq-taken private by Western Digital) and a number of other privately-held companies backed by Marwit Capital.
Mr. Witte holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Cornell University and currently serves on their University Council.
