As Development Associate for Related California, Ms. Fong is responsible for supporting and assisting in all aspects of the development process, including the acquisition, design, financing, construction, and stabilization of more than 500 affordable housing units in Northern California.
Ms. Fong comes to Related with public policy and nonprofit experience. Prior to joining Related, Ms. Fong consulted for the California Department of Housing and Community Development, municipal governments, and nonprofit organizations on program development and impact. As an administrative project manager at the UC Berkeley Institute of Urban and Regional Development, she managed a state-funded research contract from the California Air Resources Board to conduct research on community engagement models, oversaw a budget and supported the creation of a statewide Community Engaged Research Advisory Committee composed of environmental justice leaders. As a marketing coordinator at CalMatters, a nonprofit and nonpartisan news organization, Ms. Fong supported the creation of an impact strategy, created promotional materials and analyzed growth opportunities to generate new leads.
Ms. Fong holds a Master in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Sacramento.
