Witte and Cardone Stepping Back

Founder Bill Witte and his long-time business partner and President Frank Cardone are both stepping back from their daily responsibilities for Related California Affordable.  For more than 30 years, Witte and Cardone grew the affordable division into one of the largest real estate companies on the West Coast and a prolific affordable housing developer with the completion of more than 16,000 affordable residential units. With the expertise of master planning and developing affordable family, senior, intergenerational, and permanent supportive housing, some of their landmark public housing redevelopments include Harbor Village, Pueblo del Sol and Rose Hill Courts in Los Angeles, Lion Creek Crossings in Oakland, and mixed-income and market-rate homes such as Ocean Avenue South in Santa Monica. Witte and Cardone have built more than 850 affordable housing units with FivePoint in the master planned community of Great Park Neighborhoods in Irvine and more than 1,500 affordable housing units in the City of Anaheim.

Related California Affordable is known to deliver some of the biggest housing developments in the state, including Alveare, an affordable, mixed-use, multigenerational residential community currently under construction, with 303 units of affordable, service-enriched family, senior and permanent supportive housing in downtown LA.  When complete, Alveare will be the largest affordable housing community in DTLA. The company started off as an affordable housing developer and as it grew, it expanded into other asset classes, such as middle-income and mixed-use projects.

Related California executive Ann Silverberg has assumed a new leadership role as President and CEO of Related California Affordable. Silverberg will oversee all aspects of the company’s over $8.5 billion affordable portfolio and operations in Northern California, Southern California, and the Pacific Northwest. A veteran affordable housing development executive with more than 25 years of experience, Silverberg has served as CEO of Related California’s Nor Cal Affordable and Northwest Divisions for the past eight years, growing it to over 5,000 units under construction and in predevelopment. Gino Canori is now President and CEO of Related California’s market rate division.  Canori’s career spans more than 24 years with Related California where he has been instrumental in the rapid expansion and success statewide. Today, he oversees a $10 billion pipeline of developments that includes more than 7,000 multifamily units and over 5 million square feet of commercial space.
